This is how I take in challenging costumes on my own. I may not be as experienced as I want, but the only way to get experienced is to experience right?

I'm really excited about my Rikku costume. The trainer dressphere is not cosplayed enough. Then again I always love cosplaying costumes that aren't as cosplayed much. Hehe. Anyway, I'm taking the costume slowly and I admit I get lazy. BUT I do have almost all the fabric I'll need for it. Almost. I need to buy some RIT dye though for some of it. Rikku has this thing about her costumes where she has a lot of pieces that fade from yellow to orange.... ah well.

If you're wondering about my Sheik costume... I've kind of put her on hold. I haven't found any fabric that will work with the dark blue I got at Wal-mart so I might need to buy some at JoAnn's and just start over! Fun stuff, but it's worth it. I want Sheik to come out as well as I can make it on the first or second try...lol.

Fabric~ YAY

I bought vinyl. I'm a bit worried. I've heard it kind of gets tricky making outfits out of Vinyl material but I think I am up to the challenge. I like challenges---sort of.

So I abused JoAnn's sale and bought 5 different types of fabric for the price of $24! I still need fabric for my Rikku and Sheik costumes but I got some to work on Rikku's outfit. I had NO luck with finding a good stretchy blue for Sheik. I might have to start over and get new fabric for the whole body suit part so I can find the right blues together. ;__; Siiiiigh I bought that bolt at Wal-Mart risking this issue and it happened. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes!

I'm super excited to work on all my costumes but even MORE excited to see my fiance this Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh I have someone to help me with my props whenever I run into a random problem at home. ^-^; Yeah, I don't know..I'm so excited though. He's like my best friend, which is good I guess considering I'll be marrying him. :] We both like to work on things alone..so when we're in the room working on stuff it's kind of quiet and relaxing. We get a lot done. So he won't be too much of a distraction... Maaaaybe at first since I haven't seen him in 7 months lol but...yeah. I'm just excited.

In any case. I can't wait to get more RIkku progress done but until he arrives I'm going to keep the room clean ;__; Yeah..I don't feel good right now, my tummy is acting up so I'm going to go now.

Brainstorming 'n stuff..

Lately I've been really thinking about what other costumes I want to bring to Fanime, aside from Mercedes and Agitha.

Right now I am thinking...Leafeon is a DEFINITE possibility (seeing as I have all the material I need for the outfit) and now I'm thinking of cosplaying the Poe Merchant from LoZ: Ocarina of Time!

I bought some brown stretchy, brown fabric that was on sale today for $4! I also bought a zipper I needed for like $0.97. Pretty good deals. ^~^; I plan on making my gloves for Agitha with the brown fabric. I just need to learn HOW to make gloves first. I'm a little nervous but I'd rather make them than pay like $15 bucks for gloves that I'd have to alter anyway! -_-; Now that I have fabric I can make some and have enough for my Leafeon cosplay too. I plan on making the hand-paws and feet-paws with them. It'll be cute----I hope! XD

Finding the right color of fabric..

..why must this be so freakin' difficult?

So JoAnn's was having a New Years Day sale and I figured I would take advantage and buy some fabric for Agitha's dress. The prices were great but I had a hard time finding colors to match! I ended up getting something a bit too dark and then another needs like a hint of green so I plan on buying some green dye and adding a green touch to it. I will test a small piece first of course. ;/

Anyway...I'm kind of disappointed. I looked through both JoAnn's that I know of and didn't find anything to really match up the colors as accurate as I wanted to. :[ I found the colors in other fabrics but they wouldn't look right and were too shiny or thick. If I'm really not happy I will freakin' order online or just try and dye up something to match. I have looked at Wal-Mart but their fabric is a bit cheap. Still though. I think I will look again...just to make sure.

In anycase...I'm pretty tired. Robby went home this morning and I miss him already. I will miss snuggling up to him before bed. :[ He's such fun to be around. He may seem pretty quiet but once you get to know him and he opens up...it's great. He's always got me laughing or just feeling happy. ^~^ The more time we spend together the closer we feel and the more we understand each other... It also gets harder being apart! But yeah....I'm going to go shower and sleep. I'm pretty tired and my nose has been all runny today. I already got sick last month though! Freakin' sucks!
